Home staged at Eastport, Maryland: Chesapeake Ave
Marylin O’ Share, a realtor with Coldwell Banker at Church Circle in Annapolis for whom we staged a few properties before, contacted us to stage this beautiful home in Eastport. The house was built in 1940 and has
retained the “old house charm” with gorgeous bay windows, a cozy front porch and hardwood floors.
Yet, it has very recent updates in the kitchen and bathrooms. Our first suggestion was to repaint the master bedroom, which was painted in a deep blue color, to something more neutral and warmer.
Because of our experience painting murals and as color consultants, we can offer these additional services when we stage a home, so we painted the room for Marylin. We also took advantage of the fact that one of the kitchen walls was painted with black chalkboard paint, and added a beautiful chalkboard
decoration to that wall.
Marylin and the owners felt it was important to stage the whole house, instead of just certain rooms, including the front porch, the backyard and the finished basement. On the third floor there was a very spacious room, which we staged as a guest room. We also staged a sitting area off the master bedroom,
taking advantage of French doors that connected the two areas, and a third room as an office.
The buyers, (a recently married young couple) fell in love with several pieces of furniture and some of the decorations we used for the staging, and ended up buying them from us. We feel that is the best testimonial we can get, because it shows that we clearly appealed to their taste and the staging played an important role in their decision to buy. Thank you Marylin for once again trusting us and our professional judgement.
