Home staging Millersville Maryland: Occupied home staged at 330 Red Magnolia Ct, MIllersville, MD
Samantha Marcus of Century 21 contacted us again to stage the house of one of her clients. Susan, the homeowner, wanted to sell and downsize to a place closer to her children in Baltimore. She needed to stay in the house until a contract was signed, so we had to opt for a staging that used her own furniture and decorations.
We visited the house, did a walkthrough and had an extensive conversation with Susan to learn about her typical activities in the house, which were the rooms she used the most and other useful information.
This process helped us understand how to stage her house in a way that made it attractive to potential buyers, yet it caused minimal disruption to her daily life and routine.
Susan was hesitant to make many changes. A recent widow, she wanted to preserve memories of the many years she shared the house with her husband. We knew we had to be tactful in our proposal.
We prepared a “to-do” list for Susan detailing, room by room, our recommendations to remove clutter, very personal items (pictures, medals, religious items, etc.) and pieces of furniture we were not planning to use in the staging.
After Susan finished her homework, we came back with additional items and furniture to put in the finishing touches.
It was very satisfying to see Susan sitting in the staged living room wishing she and her husband had used it a lot more throughout the years. We think that is the room she used the most until she moved out, which wasn’t long, because the house sold in a few weeks.
